Thanks to the two video articles released from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 so far – the sneak peek clip released in February and the first teaser trailer which dropped in March – we can know already that at least five Breaking Dawn quotes were adapted for the script of Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
Here’s a handy side-by-side guide to those quotes from the book (and where they are located in the text) which were transformed and presented in the film’s sneak peek videos.
1. Bella (Kristen Stewart): “After eighteen years of being utterly ordinary, I’ve finally found that I can shine.”
Book Version (Ch. 26, p. 523): “After eighteen years of mediocrity, I was pretty used to being average. I realized now that I’d long ago given up any aspirations of shining at anything. I just did the best with what I had, never quite fitting into my world. So this was really different. I was amazing now – to them and to myself. It was like I had been born to be a vampire. The idea made me want to laugh, but it also made me want to sing. I had found my true place in the world, the place I fit, the place I shined.”
2. Jacob (Taylor Lautner): “I didn’t expect you to seem so you.”
Book Version (Ch. 22, p. 434): “You still look like you – sort of. Maybe it’s not the look so much as… you are Bella. I didn’t think it would feel like you were still here.”
3. Edward (Robert Pattinson): “We’re the same temperature now.”
Book Version (Ch. 20, p. 389 – narration by “Bella”): “Oh. Of course. Edward wouldn’t feel cold to me. We were the same temperature now.”
4. Alice (Ashley Greene)’s note: “Gather as many witnesses as you can before the snow sticks to the ground. That’s when they’ll come for us.”
Book Version (Ch. 29, p. 558): “Don’t look for us. There isn’t time to waste. Remember: Tanya, Siobhan, Amun, Alistair, all the nomads you can find. We’ll see out Peter and Charlotte on our way. We’re so sorry that we have to leave you this way, with no goodbyes or explanations. It’s the only way for us. We love you.”
5. Edward (Robert Pattinson): “I’ve had a bad habit of underestimating you.”
Book Version (Ch. 19, p. 381): “I’m sure she’ll surprise me. She always does.”
