Eva Madray is proprietor and chef and offers a truly unique dining experience for all her guests. Eva was born and raised in British Guyana, South America and is one of 8 siblings. Her mother and father were very influential parents and taught all their children to be of strong character. Eva’s mother always emphasized the importance of taking care of oneself and also taking full responsibilities to care for one’s home environment.
Eva began her own life’s journey at a young age and wanted to find her own life’s passion. During her later years she lived in Laguna Beach, CA and is now a 24 year resident. One day, 12 years ago, a friend took Eva to Drew’s Caribbean Kitchen to dine. Eva felt such a “kindred spirit” once she arrived at the restaurant. She knew that it was going to be her own place of business. In 2000 Eva took over the restaurant and of course, named it “Eva’s Caribbean Kitchen.
Eva started the new dream from scratch. She had and still has a strong desire to build a truly unique and long lost dining experience for all of her guests to favor. Her mother and aunt, who always loved to cook authentic Caribbean meals, came out to California to help Eva create and master favored dishes of many authentic varieties that would surely bring wows to all their new guests.
And yes, she followed their advise. I’ll tell you, when you arrive at Eva’s, whether it’s your first visit or any following visits, you will feel like you are dining in Eva’s home. Everyone who enters this restaurant is treated as if you are the guest of honor. It’s such an amazing experience. Eva brings her personal and genuine gift of love to each and every one of her guests. All meals are prepared on an individual basis and “just for you” at the time of your order.
If it’s your first visit, everyone who serves you, including Eva, will know your first and last name and remember you and everything you ordered each and every time you return. Eva will most likely offer you the house special tropical rum punch drink as a welcoming gift. All of the staff follows the same welcoming attitude. It’s just a total pleasure to not only dine at Eva’s, but to experience the wonderful menu delights and to just sit and love the whole experience.
Customers often say that there’s nothing better than “The Eva Experience.” You will be totally taken back by her charm, personality, poise and very generous and genuine spirit. And, when you receive your entrée the presentation will feel as if it’s just made for you and it probably is just that!
