I have additional remarks about Venus retrograde since I noticed some astrological coincidences this past weekend. Venus is slowly moving back and forth in one place, concentrating her energies. It’s different from her usual journey moving quickly from one sign to the next. Note where Venus is in your natal chart. If Venus is presently crossing over your Sun, Moon, Venus or Mars it means a protracted experience in relationships. It also makes a difference if your 1st, 5th and 7th houses are involved. Love will definitely be on your mind for the next several weeks. It could be disappointing or it could be thrilling. Considering it’s going on in Gemini it could mean serial love affairs especially for young adults. For example a girl who tends to be a little flirty from time to time may now be promiscuous or easily swept off her feet.
Old friendships may be rekindled. It’s a good time to bury the hatchet if Venus is retrograding on the cusp of the 11th house of friendships. A Cancer woman in Hillsdale, Bergen County with a natal conjunction of Venus and Mercury in Gemini on the cusp of her 11th house decided to call up an old friend this past weekend. They were once very close and had a falling out. She wanted to hold out the olive branch. They had a good time reconnecting and once again there is harmony between them.
Romance may begin but not come to fruition or last long if Venus is retrograding on the cusp of the 5th house of love affairs. I know a middle aged Cancer woman in Oakland, Bergen County who has Gemini on the cusp of her 5th house. She hasn’t seen much action for a while. She met a nice man on Sunday at a community barbeque who was quite taken with her. He asked for her phone number. She didn’t reciprocate his ardor and he was not really appropriate for her. But she was flattered just the same. She said to me with a smile, I guess I’ve still got it! Who knows whom I’ll meet next week?
To recap: With Venus retrograde in your sign you are more attractive to the opposite sex no matter how old and wrinkled you might be. Get dressed up and go out. You never know who may be smiling back at you. Old friends both platonic and romantic may come back into your life as I’ve illustrated above. New friends will be drawn to you.
This week you can’t see Venus anymore at sunset. Venus and the Sun are only 12º apart. On June 6 there will be an occultation, when Venus crosses directly in front of the Sun in 15º Gemini. In plain language it’s the same as a conjunction, only as close as you possibly get. We can’t see that either but an astronomer with a good filtered telescope can. Early in July Venus will join Jupiter and we will be able to see them together again before sunrise. In the meantime… love one another!
Mark your calendars for June 30 and the opening day of the Oakland Farmers’ Market in Oakland, Bergen County. More information to come. Leave a comment below and share your experience!
