In order to celebrate June as Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month, the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County is offering the following special promotions:
Special adoption fee rate for all cats and kittens: only $50 each!
All cats and kittens have been spayed or neutered; and have received all required vaccines.
An AWLMC volunteer is donating her pet photography expertise by giving each new adoptive parent a free 8 x10 photo of their new cat.
AWLMC is giving away a $15 Petsmart Gift Card with every adoption.
Please visit the new, relaxed, “cat and human friendly” Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County; a no-kill shelter, where cats are cage free in a home like setting!

In addition to the June Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat promotion, AWLMC is an avid supporter of “Seniors for Seniors”, a program that matches “senior cats” (6+ years of age and older) with “senior citizens” (60+ years of age and older). Any interested senior citizen need simply stop by the shelter during an adoption event and/or call 301-740-2511 to speak with a counselor, who will in turn help determine your needs; and then work to match you with the perfect senior cat. The company of a cat is very beneficial – both mentally and physically: Less Stress; Lowers Blood Pressure; Less Lonliness and Depression; Increases Activity; Pets Are Friends; Encourages one to take better care of themselves by caring for a pet; Reduces Anxiety. In addition, you will be giving a homeless cat a loving, permanent home; and in turn, once the shelter cat moves to its new home, a space will open allowing another homeless cat the chance at a forever home.
If you are considering adopting a cat this June, or at any time, please consider a cat from the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, a private, all-volunteer organization providing a no-kill shelter and foster care; a registered charity with 501(c) (3) status, established in the fall of 2005, serving Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the Washington DC Area.
Give a homeless cat the opportunity of a lifetime: safety and care in a loving permanent home. You will never regret it!
