The Chatham Community Players will hold open auditions for the fast paced comedy, THE 39 STEPS, adapted from the John Buchan novel/Alfred Hitchcock film by Patrick Barlowas, It will be their first main stage show of their 91st season. The production runs October 5 – 20, 2012 at the Chatham Playhouse. Rehearsals to start in early August.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, June 24 at 7 P.M. and on Tuesday, June 26 at 7 P.M. at The Chatham Playhouse, 23 North Passaic Ave., Chatham. Director Bell Wesel asks that actors be familiar with the script. Sides will be provided at the audition. If you have a comedic monologue, you may be asked perform it.

4 Extremely versatile actors with great comic flair to play a multitude of Roles. Must be physically agile and creatively fearless.
Richard Hannay – 30’s to 40 Attractive, Comic Leading Man type. Upper class British. Slightly full of himself but totally engaging.
Annabella/Pamela/Margaret – 20’s to 30’s Attractive and Adaptable, Great with physical comedy. Must play three distinct characters, Upper class British, German and Scottish.
Clown 1 and Clown 2 – Two wildly versatile and energetic male actors to play over 100 roles (Upper and Lower class British, Scottish, German, some male, some female and some inanimate objects). Great with verbal and physical Comedy and quick changes.
