Air Quality Alert: Ozone Action Day for Indiana; ozone level orange; unhealthy for sensitvie groups
Barring any setbacks from a thunderstorm, Chicago is in for potentially the longest hot spell of the season. Already at an impressive tally of 90+ degree days (at eight) so early in the season, Chicago could tack on seven more over the next week (from Friday to next Thursday). What this means is that by next Thursday, Chicago could have record seven consecutive 90+ degree days, which would be the longest series of back-to-back 90s since 2005’s eight consecutive 90+ degree days that ran from June 23-June 30.
As previously stated, thunderstorms could disrupt this from happening. Nevertheless, considering how dry it has been thus far this month, much needed rain in the form of thunderstorms appear to be a possibility this Father’s Day weekend. An influx of humidity combined with a cold front extending across the Plains and the Upper Midwest will translate eastward and bring the chance for thunderstorms Saturday evening, Sunday, and possibly again Sunday night. Whether or not it rains this weekend, the increase in the number of 90 degree days over the next week is certain. After Sunday, our next best chance for rain comes late Thursday or Friday.
Friday: Mostly sunny and hot. Highs in the lower 90s. Cooler near the lake. Winds southeast 5-15 mph.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, hot, and humid. Chance for thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Winds south-southeast 5-15 mph.
Monday: Partly cloudy, breezy, and hot. Highs in the lower to mid 90s. Winds southwest 10-20 mph with gust as high as 30 mph.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, breezy, and hot. Highs in the lower to mid 90s. Winds southwest 10-20 mph with gust as high as 30 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny and hot. Highs in the lower to mid 90s. Winds southwest 5-15 mph.
