When a person says the word “home” feelings are conjured up and emotions become the core of one’s thought processes. When someone says the word “house” it becomes less emotional and more about property. This week’s “Drop Dead Diva” covered both of these angles but always led back to the emotions.
When Kim’s father calls for help regarding a recently acquired property she, at Parker’s urging, calls him back and helps him with the legal problems surrounding the recent house he has taken residence in. They manage to win the case with a little maneuvering from real estate law to grand Larson. The best part of this storyline was the reconnection between Kim and Parker (truly a love affair that was far to short lived and would please fans tremendously if it was re-kindled). Kim’s relationship with her father is rocky to say the least, it opens the door to allow her to question Parker about his own personal search for his child.
Since the inception of the show, Grayson’s home has been Deb. The love of his life who he once thought was dead and buried. However, the cards seems to be falling into place and he is questioning whether Deb is really gone or if his friend Jane and Deb have a lot more in common than just fashion sense. His search leads him to think Jane is Deb. He seeks out to prove it, but Luke with a little maneuvering of his own, manages to intercept Grayson’s plan to get Jane to spill the beans by calling in Owen.
As for Luke, Jane’s new guardian angel, he has managed to also maneuver himself into Jane and Stacy’s home with a little money and ingenuity and a lot of attitude from Jane he finds success. He has integrated himself into Jane’s personal and professional life in a record time. But she still has a soft spot for Fred and it is obvious to viewers at home she hopes he comes back.
Aside from Luke infiltrating Jane’s home, she finds herself in a little hot water with her best friend Stacy and Stacy’s new friend Nicki (played by Kim Kardashian) when she asks Stacy for a business plan after she asks for 10 grand to help her get her business started. Stacy forgives after talking things over with Luke, but it appears that Nicki (who may have deeper ties to Jane’s life than just being Stacy’s friend) has a very negative impression of Jane.
