Elevation Cellars’ Riesling, Imperium, has enough zest to wake up your taste buds without the strong sugars of traditional Rieslings. The wine’s light texture and supple finish makes it a great choice for evening or afternoon.
The Woodinville based winery obtained their name from the term Elevage meaning a “journey from the grape to the glass”. The winery specializes in Cabernets, Merlots and Riesling. The 100% Riesling grapes were sourced from Columbia Valley.
The winemakers, Steven Stuart and Matthew Loso, certainly take the consumer on a journey with this wine. Elevation Cellars describes the 2010 Imperium as being “floral and citric with apricot and pineapple notes”. Hints of “crisp apple” add a bit of spice while honey softens the finish. At a price of $16.00 per bottle, the Imperium is sure to be a hit at the Fourth of July BBQ this year.
If passing through Woodinville be sure to stop by the Elevation Cellars tasting room, open Saturdays and Sundays (12:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.) and select Fridays. Visit their website for more information.
