As if watching the movie outdoors is not enough,The Service Station decided to invite some of the most sinfully good food carts, put in some live bands and add some stand up comedian to go with it.
The Service Station is presenting LA Beer Garden and Outdoor Movie on Saturday, a day of absolute immersion to contemporary art, live audio and visual performances, as much food as you body will take and lots of crazy jokes with you friends as you gulp down some of the best tasting beers available in the US.
The Service Station is may not be new but it is an unconventional and evolving event group. They are known for putting together shows that fuse different art forms to bring different kinds of artists and art lovers. Their events become a true multi-media, multi-dimensional celebration of art, friendship and fun where people do more than just sit to watch something. The musicians they bring ignite conversations, the activities they put up encourage participation, and the movies they show never disappoint.
Events like this, unlike others in LA, feel more like a gathering of lifelong friends, a secret space of silence in the middle of a chaotic city.
Note that movies are projected on a large 30×30 foot screen, viewed from comfortable artificial turf seating (but feel free to bring a low chair). Bean bag chairs available for an extra $5. Doors open at 5 PM and movies start around 8 PM. Food is provided by a combination of artisanal food trucks, mobile kitchens, and local caterers. Beer is provided by BGLA and features a different local brewer each event. If you want to bring a chair, it must not be more than 6″ off the ground.
