A Huffington Post article decrying the Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act, aka PRENDA, makes an inflammatory statement regarding Americans of Asian heritage and the practice of killing female babies in utero.
PRENDA, a Republican bill scheduled for a house hearing beginning Wednesday, aims to stop the practice of targeted abortions based on the gender and/or race of the baby. Of course, this is the founding idea of Planned Parenthood, hence the opposition of the anti-life left.
Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, a proponent of eugenics, started the “Negro Project” which was aimed at, as the name implies, controlling the expanse of the black community, whom she viewed as inferior and uneducated, as outlined by the National Black Pro-life Union.
A publication by NYU shows a 1939 report co-authored by Sanger which declared, “[N]egroes present the great problem of the South,” and are “a population characterized as largely illiterate and that still breed carelessly and disastrously,”
Nearly 3 quarters of a century later, these same types of activists are still resisting the attempt to remove racism and sexism from the abortion process.
The article, co-authored by Miriam Yeung, Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas and Eleanor Hinton Hoytt, states, “This bill means that all women — and to be clear, particularly Asian American women — who seek an abortion could face new, intense scrutiny.” [emphasis added]
The article continues to say that any woman who appears Asian would be subject to intense scrutiny based on the issue of “sex selection in Asian countries,” then, without a sense of irony, the very next paragraph states, “We work every day to fight sex discrimination and racial stereotyping in all its forms.”
This hypocrisy blends perfectly with the fact that those on the left trumped up a fake Republican “war on women” based on a resistance to paying for other people’s condoms, but are perfectly happy to allow the wholesale slaughter of women before they are born simply because they are female.
The article later explains that “women of color” need government policies in order to avoid unintended pregnancies and to provide them with a safe and healthy environment. This type of condescension mirrors that of Sanger in 1939, that the black community cannot properly function without government intervention.
After reading this article, one is left with little doubt why Peter Shen wrote in Tiger Startups blog, Why Doesn’t Huffington Post Have Asian Voices And Do We Asian Americans Even Care?
The answer is simple. The Huffington Post does not respect Asians, and the left has not found a way to exploit Asians in the way they have other ethnicities. Well, that is, unless they can get this latest insult to stick.
It’s time we stop accepting the divisiveness of the left, the “soft racism” of low expectations and the assertion that certain races, ethnicities or sexes are powerless, except for through the saving graces of government.
The Preamble to the U.S. Constitution reads, “We the people,” not we the white people, we the black people, we the Chinese people, etc.
