Fans can look forward to some new music from country sweetheart Lauren Alaina on July 16. Lauren will release “Eighteen Inches,” from her debut album, “Wildflower.” The song was co-written by Carrie Underwood, Kelley Lovelace and Ashley Gorley.
“It’s amazing to have an artist like Carrie Underwood, whom I look up to so much write my single,” beamed Alaina in a recent press release. “Kelley, Ashley, and Carrie all did a wonderful job writing such an incredible song. I feel so honored to be able to bring to life the beautiful story within the song.”
Carrie commented in a press release about Alaina’s recording of “Eighteen Inches,” saying, “It’s so wonderful when a song you had a hand in writing finds the perfect home. Lauren’s voice tells the story of ‘Eighteen Inches’ beautifully. What an incredible talent!”
Alaina is currently nominated for two Teen Choice Awards. Her nominations are for Choice Female Country Artist and Choice TV: Female Reality Star. The 2012 Teen Choice Awards will air on July 22, 2012, on Fox starting at 8 p.m..
Lauren is currently on tour, opening for Sugarland, on their “In Your Hands” tour.
