Yesterday I woke up to a flurry of emails and text messages of people telling me that I was on the front page of the Kelowna Daily Courier newspaper and also had a large article consuming page 1 of the business section about my recent LinkedIn training workshop held at the Ramada Hotel in Kelowna. During a full day live LinkedIn training I had room full of business owners, entrepreneurs, sales people and professionals working on their LinkedIn profiles.
The objective of this workshop was not for me to stand at the front of the room and just teach all day, but more to lead this group of savvy professionals through how to create a professional LinkedIn profilethat gets results, and implement it before the end of the day.
It was such a wonderful group of people from all across the Okanagan Valley, and some even making the 4 hour drive in from Vancouver to attend this one-of-a-kind LinkedIn training.
The audience was represented well by the local media (Kelowna Capital News, Kelowna Daily Courier, Astral Media) with sales professionals, business columnists and even VP of Sales and Marketing from the local media in attendance as participants.
Also in attendance for the LinkedIn training were realtors, insurance agents, accountants, financial advisors, authors, coaches, consultants, speakers, social media managers, small business owners, sales professionals, corporate employees, non-profits, recruiters, printers, investment advisors, marketing professionals and more.
LinkedIn is very powerful for all B2B businesses, and when used right can also be very effective for B2C businesses.
With over 157 million active members, LinkedIn is the #1 social network for business owners.
- – The average LinkedIn user has a household income of $109,000
- – 2 new members join every seconds
- – In 2011 there were 4.2 billion professionally oriented services on the LinkedIn platform
- – Also users trust information on LinkedIn twice as much as information found on other sites.
In this workshop participants, I taught participants my 3-Step Formula to a Successful LinkedIn Profile:
Step 1: Be Found! It’s important to your success on LinkedIn that you rank at the top of the search results when someone is searching for what you offer.
Step 2: Attract Your Ideal Clients! Your LinkedIn profile needs to be written to attract and speak directly to your ideal client.
Step 3: Stand Out! In the busy sea of social media you must use every tactic available to stand out amongst the crowd while increasing your credibility at the same time.

I want to thank Steve MacNaull, business columnist for the Kelowna Daily Courier for giving me such a great write up on my LinkedIn training and being so generous with real estate on Page 1 of the business section in yesterday’s Daily Courier newspaper!
