“Once Upon a Time” will be back on ABC 7 in Queens in the fall, and after the season 1 finale ending, with magic coming to Storybrooke, fans are eager to see what happens next. What will magic mean for Storybrooke and fairytale land?
E! Online reported Thursday that Lana Parrilla has teased, “Now that the curse is broken we can really do anything.” She even guessed about what this could mean for the two worlds:
“What I foresee happening, is somehow Fairytale Land is going to surface in Storybrooke because you know it’s buried underneath. But I could be totally wrong!”
That could very well happen at some point in Once Upon a Time season 2. Anything is possible at this point, especially because magic is unpredictable. Rumplestiltskin has brought magic to town, but he can’t control it. If he could bring magic, who’s to say that parts of fairytale land won’t pop up in Storybrooke?
But what could be coming up for Regina and Henry? Now that everyone knows the truth (watch Emma realize the truth here), Regina’s the most hated woman around. She’s lost Henry to Emma, but Parrilla foresees Regina perhaps using magic “to get Henry (Jared Gilmore) back.” She wants to see them back together, but will it happen?
“I hope to see that Henry comes around somehow. I really think it’s an important relationship not just for the audience but for these characters to resolve. Regina can’t lose her son completely! However she finds a way, be it magic or honesty or just pure love, I hope she’s able to get Henry back somehow.”
Since it doesn’t seem likely Emma will let that happen anytime soon, Regina may have to rely on magic to get what she wants. But would that work? Since everyone now knows she’s the Evil Queen, it’s not going to be so easy, and it seems like the only way that Regina could get what she wants—and have Emma let her have time with Henry—would be to not turn to magic. But will Regina be able to do that?
There’s also the continuing drama between Regina and Rumplestiltskin to consider. Parrilla did say that “magic is everything” to them, and since it’s unclear just what will happen with magic in Storybrooke, there’s bound to be another big confrontation between the two. The scenes between those two were among the strongest of the first season, and you just have to hope that continues in season 2.
