TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles will be back for a fourth season, the network announced Friday.
“The series has drawn 7.1 million viewers in its new Tuesday 9 p.m. timeslot and ranks as summer’s number-one returning scripted series on basic cable,” TNT said. “TNT has ordered 15 episodes of Rizzoli & Isles, with the fourth season slated for 2013.”
The series stars Angie Harmon as Boston police detective Jane Rizzoli, and Sasha Alexander as medical examiner Maura Isles.
Harmon won the Gracie Allen Award in 2012 for Outstanding Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Drama Series or Special in 2012.
Her previous work includes portraying Abbie Carmichael on “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” She received four Screen Actors Guild nominations for her role.
Harmon’s credits also include portrayal of Ryan McBride on “Baywatch” and “Baywatch Nights.”
Alexander portrayed Gretchen Witter on “Dawson’s Creek.”
She also portrayed Agent Caitlin Todd on “NCIS.”
Alexander won the 2008 San Diego Film Festival Award for Best Actress for her role as Sarah in “The Last Lullaby.”
