Construction crews continue to work on Margaret Terrace. The work extends from Second Street to Seventh Street. City personnel are raising the street. The crew switched sides of the street in early June. The project is expected to continue for several months.
Several businesses on Third Street, including a Cracker Barrel, a CVS, and a shopping plaza have experienced slightly lower than normal customer traffic because of the roadwork.
Traffic through the city is largely unaffected. Temporary lanes allow two-way traffic on the street. Some motorists may need to take detours around Margaret Avenue. Drivers using US Highway 41 do not need to worry about changing their travel plans to allow for the detours.
Access to Interstate 70 is unaffected. Residents can still access the stores on US 41 that are on corners of the intersection of US 150-41 and Margaret Ave. Postal service customers may want avoid the office on Second Street.
