When in the Burlington area, don’t miss Shelburne Museum, 6000 Shelburne Road/Route 7, Shelburne.
Opening day is Sunday, May 12, 2013. Celebrate Mother’s Day as the museum ushers in the new season with Spring Fest.
The hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $22 per Adult.
Vermont residents’ admission is half price or $11, thanks to the generosity of Lois McClure, a longtime benefactor of Shelburne Museum.
Please see the slideshow for a sneak preview of spring flowers that will be blooming at the museum and at the home of founder, Electra Havemeyer Webb, the Brick House.
The 45-acre campus includes a vast number of flower gardens created by Jess Gallas, Master Gardener.
The organically maintained grounds beautifully reflect the theme of the surrounding buildings and special exhibits.
An annual tradition is the planting of the Heritage Garden at Dutton House.
This represents an 1820’s heirloom kitchen garden.
It’s rewarding for volunteers working on the garden to see it come to fruition throughout the summer and fall.
