“Talk 2 Me-Column!” covered the McDonald’s Gospelfest that took place on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Prudential Center. Read this article posted on 6/7/12. The show is airing on UPN Friday, June 29th. Check your local listings for the time.
“A STAR IS BORN 4!” Annual Talent Showcase and Competition took place on Saturday, June 2, 2012 that featured the “Violin Diva” out of NYC who was 1st place winner in the instrumentalists category of the McDonald’s Gospelfest in 2011, has opened for Chaka Khan, and more. She was very prophetic in her ministry while playing the violin-a GREAT woman in the Lord! Also, “St. Jon” of Staten Island finalist with me in the Staten Island Gospel Festival that took place October 2011. He’s a writer, producer, youth leader, singer, rapper, and vibrant Man of God; “Jiaya” Christian Rap Artist out of Danbury, CT who will be walking in the office of Pastor very soon, a phenomenal Woman of God.
Youth features included last year’s 1st place winner of the Diamond Twinkles and Star Diamond age groups: Bridgeport’s own; “Kennith J” and Adarius “Nephew” Moore George who passed their diamonds along to the NEW FIRST PLACE WINNERS OF 2012!
Our new FIRST PLACE WINNERS OF ASIB 4 ARE AALICIA GREEN (Diamond Twinkle), of Stamford, & JUWAN CRAWLEY (Star Diamond), of Bridgeport!!!!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS. Aalicia was the first to audition in Stamford, CT at the Ferguson Library. She wooed us vivacious and confident attitude, wearing a turquoise little sundress with feathered earrings to match. Aalicia Green sang her heart out, and she has such a pretty voice and beautiful sunshiny smile. What a wonderful pleasure to be around; a soft spoken, intelligent, studious little lady with quick wit. She’s a member of Kingdom Life Ministries, under Dr. Cook. I loved every moment of her performance as she sang-excellent! My nickname for her is “Sunshine” because every time I’ve been in her presence that’s what she exudes-light-when you are being raised right and have God in your life as a child.
Juwan was the last to audition by Youtube video, in Bridgeport, out of True Vine of Holiness Church under Pastor Green. Juwan took everyone by surprise because of his kind, soft, and gentle spirit; intelligent and always smiling. When he got up to sing he truly and honestly blew everyone away!!! Everyone in the room was up screaming, praising, and cheering. He sang, “I love the Lord,” like Anthony Hamilton, Ottis Redding, and Prince all rolled in one. The anointing truly was on him, and all I can say is that he was marvelous. I call him, “The Man,” a big young man with a big voice-amazing gift. His friends, and family must’ve have been praying hard because all who were supposed to go up against him dropped off by the waist side, but from what I saw of his ministry that day Juwan would’ve won anyhow lol. (SEE PREVIOUS ARTICLE ON THEM BOTH)
Aalicia and Juwan were the first and the last of contestants from the Staten Island, Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, New Haven, and Massachusetts. DITR had 15 location audition sites for 3 months, and private auditions-some by video-throughout the state. We selected 10 contests which included one rap group out of NY. But those that remained and weren’t dismissed were the above youth mentioned.
They continued to “PRESS” leaving everyone to actually place, yet all who auditioned were winners in my book because they tried. However, there are rewards in this journey for completing the race, whether fast or slow. You can look at it from a spiritual stand point and in our everyday toils in life to succeed at whichever endeavor we’re striving for.
Therefore; Aalicia and Juwan deserved every bit of love and accolades they’ve received on June 2, 2012 for their pressing, and success in achieving first place with a spirit of EXCELLENCE & COOPERATION from their parents. Support; a critical and vital necessity to “PUSH” the youth were they need to go in their proper guidance. Cooperation; in the process to go from contestant to participation in the event’s ministry to becoming a WINNER is certainly important in any talent show your child will be a part of, especially if they plan to be in major competitions because “ATTITUDE” of the child and their support team/management team will have a great deal to do with how successful they are.
Also, other key elements to have are: Professionalism, their love for what they’re doing, timeliness, image, manners, disciplining themselves in perfecting their craft, and following through on their word when they commit to engagements. No doubt about it. Ask any producer with a major event and they’ll tell you the same. It’s just food for thought, so in their time of preparation these are some of things your aspiring little artist should work on. We all miss the mark, or make mistakes and sometimes take the wrong path, but that’s just what learning is about. Isn’t it? To help you grow and learn.
Recognize and accept that every child that desires to be a rapper isn’t, or a singer isn’t. It will save you the trouble and embarrassment. Try different extra-curricular hobbies to know what they may have a knack or talent for and develop that. You may want your child to be a singer, but they can’t sing-period. They may be a dancer, designer, helper, or a planner, or cook, or computer “wiz,” etc. Stop trying to make them what they’re NOT because that’s what you wanted to do, or still want to do. Allow them the freedom to find what THEY like and can do well.
Moreover; anointing in a spirit of excellence and expressing talent are quite different and make all the difference in the world. Pressing into the Spirit of God is the only way that anointing oil will flow, break yokes, heal, encourage, and set others free when using the gifts and talents God has bestowed upon you. The press isn’t easy, but worth it! I speak as a minister of the gospel, a producer, and an artist who has done over 100 venues in spoken word poetry since I realized I had the gift in me, in 2002. I give the youth this advice coming from my experience, my heart, and NOT my head.
AUDITIONS WILL BE COMING IN FEB IN AN AREA NEAR YOU FOR YOUTH AGES 8-19 IN THE AREAS OF SINGING, RAPPING, DANCE, MIME, INSTRUMENTALS, COMEDY, & MORE. STAY ABREAST ON DITR’S LINKS AND SITES. Prepare your youth now, and groups with a, 4 member max, is welcomed to audition.
PRESSURE AT THE PRINTING PRESS
The definition of PRESSURE is the effect of a force applied to a surface; the continuous physical force exerted on or against an object by something in contact with it; the burden of physical or mental distress; the weight of social or economic imposition.
Other words that are synonymous to pressure are: Stress, PRESS, squeeze, strain, PUSH, or tension.
The root of PRESSURE is “PRESS” which means to move or CAUSE TO MOVE INTO POSITION of contact with something by exerting continuous physical force; a device for applying pressure to something in order to flatten or SHAPE IT or TO EXTRACT juice or oil.
PRESSING- IRONS, CRUSHES, OR PRINTS; duplicates, imprints, gives an impression, stamps, copies, engraves, inscribes that produces manuscripts.
An example is the making of oil (olive oil used to anoint in the Word/Bible); the spiritual anointing is here by GRACE due to the dispensation of Christ, and justification of being saved through His blood and grace when we profess Him. This can bring about His Holy Anointing for all those that PRESS INTO HIM through relationship, directly with Him, to receive baptism of the Holy Spirit; Baptism of tongues, the spiritual gifts, and give opportunity for His Spirit to WORK IN US AND THROUGH US. The pressure of trials, tribulations, testing, and long suffering producing the anointing. As a Christian anything you feel is too hard and you can’t take it but you continue to get through. It’s the Holy Spirit helping you to press on and keep it moving! It was God helping you and possibly challenging you. It was Him producing stronger, plush, ripe, succulent, sweet, and juicy fruit; or more fruit in some cases.
Another example is “THE PRINTING PRESS” enables us to get the news, made in 1455. In order to print the news a steady weight must be exerted and bear down on the paper to inscribe a message whether it be taking notes, writing a book; song, lyrics, beats, or me writing this information to you. With our pens, pencils, paint, keyboard, cell phone, or any device you use it will make an impression that can be viewed, carried forth, recreated, printed, or inscribed. Both require pressure, impressions, and an imprint to be made.
More examples are: Giving a stamp of approval to certify, authorize, seal for validation; printing and writing require applying some type of pressure which is an enormous role in spreading the Good News. It helps in reaches the masses, in spreading, passing along, sharing, and for us to MOVE FORWARD.
KING JAMES VI
King James VI made a decision via the Holy Spirit to create a new manuscript that would become authorized by using the knowledge instilled in him since childhood to develop a more accurate, clear, and concise account of the messages of the prophets and scriptures in the bible to have an English translation outside of the first two translations which the Puritans and scholars had used in Greek and in Hebrew during the period of 1604-1611 with the help of 47 scholars in the Church of England. Having had a very strict childhood with not much affection, schooled by the best, disciplined to carry out his royal responsibilities of that time he was equipped after having gone through his pressures and trials. He went against the norm, challenged the smartest of scholars even his personal professor, went against wrong religious views to complete the assignment God had given him-the production of the BIBLE. Thank God that the Lord had already placed great minds in position to have made the printing press in 1455.
He was tried, tested, crushed, studied to show himself approved (2 Tim 2:15), and the rod certainly wasn’t spared in his upbringing although he was royalty. He put into action what he was taught, spiritually and naturally; all working together for the good of those who love the Lord. If he didn’t do his part, study, and learn what was wrong with his society’s views on Christianity and religion there would be NO King James Version of the Bible, so please don’t tell me that ministers, pastors, apostles, and people shouldn’t receive their education. King James didn’t get a certificate from a trade school, or a high school diploma. It took years of vigorous study. If we believe we’ve arrived anywhere and don’t think we must continue our education, institutionally, traditionally, or otherwise then we all are hypocrites because without his studying we may not have had a Bible to read for which other versions have derived from. The scrolls, or leather used for the Old Testament (written for their time period) would probably be disintegrated, or so badly torn, or destroyed-how could it possibly be available to anyone who wants it? Would it be available to us today? No. It doesn’t take an Einstein to see this. The Almighty Father has his children-his soldiers- in all professions to see His Kingdom come.
John 18 is one of the oldest books discovered from 125 AD (approximately) that was written in Greek on papyrus plant, called; “biblos.” This is one of the ways in which the Egyptians used to inscribe; from a papyrus plant found on the Nile that they cut into strips, soaked in water and then pressed into. King James VI saved us the hassle of all of this and those who God put into action to create a printing press did too. He has made a great impression on the world although he’s been long dead. God had to have made an impression or imprint pressed in his heart to be quickened to have the audacity to do such a thing because it wasn’t received at first, and many religious scholars and Puritans didn’t agree with this idea to translate and the Greek/Hebrew into English and reproduce so that everyone might know the Good News. Ways used to inscribe around 125 AD was using rock, animal skin (leather), and beeswax.
I don’t know about you, but I’m so glad this man was used of God in this way. Whatever version you choose be grateful you have a version and a book because there are those in some indigenous places with none, and in some areas of other countries where it’s illegal to be in possession of a Bible. God is the Word (JN 1:1)… “the truth and the life (JN 14:6)”…“All scripture (Word) is breathed out of the mouth of God (2 Tim 3:16)” which is how we’re here. He will use who He sees fit to fulfill prophecy and His promises, no matter where they are. Without this portion of our past where would we be in our present state without the Word?
In essence, the quintessential matter is the heart. Has God made an impression on your heart? Have you accepted Christ into your heart? Will you allow him to make you over? Will you let Him begin to clean you up? Can He do it? YES, HE CAN-THE FATHER. The creator of heavens and earth can begin a work in you. I know because I’m a living witness that should’ve and could’ve been dead still beat up by life; everything and everyone around me. BUT GOD!!!! HE HAS MADE THE IMPRINT, THE FOOT PRINT, THE PRESSURE AND PRESSING WORTH IT. NO ONE BUT HIM; I do thank Him for putting rams in the bushes, those He uses to spread the Good News, and the brothers and sisters in Him that He continues to use for His glory in my life, ministry, endeavors, and for the building of His Kingdom in other’s lives. The least I can do is tell somebody what He’s capable of by my own testimony and knowing of Him for myself-not yourself-but for me. That’s my service to let anybody or somebody know He can love someone like me who was worn, torn, and hung out to dry, abandoned, and hurt all too many times. He’s there. No BFF can replace Him, no mother, father, child, or Christian brother, or sister because at the end of the day; He’s all I have depend on. The only one who really understands, and shows an agape love.
This Year’s Testimony
http://youtu.be/B0KxiMsBdOY “My Testimony” by Marvin Sapp. For 3 years God began a work in me to start the DITR…organizational ministry, and I had no clue what He was doing. I was on foot due to a car accident at the end of 2000 and it wasn’t until 3 years later when I was reinstated and back on my feet (somewhat at the time) after getting closer to the Lord. He helped me plant seed all over doing spoken word, and toiling the ground to that would lay a foundation in Him for DITR. Since DITR’s revamp the enemy has used any and every one He could around me that was or is close, and sometimes my own self to make me believe it can’t be done and to stop was He has been doing all along. It seems as though each year there’s a major setback right before each event when I’m supposed to minister and preach; especially the ones involving the youth directly, more so that is. And there’s been trials, tests, bumps, schisms, road blocks, pot holes, etc. that I’ve had to go through to achieve an outcome and to win souls to Christ. But God has always made a way through for all 10 events since April 2009.
When I ministered on this subject for our women’s fellowship for my church a couple Saturday’s ago; God put this message and Word in my Spirit originally in the bathroom at church on the Sunday morning before I had to speak. All I kept hearing was press, press, press, printing press….and I rushed to write down was God was speaking knowing this was the Good News to spread that had to go forth that following Saturday for the fellowship (my first time ministering at my somewhat new church, CVCI); although I’ve preached about 5 or 6x since 2009. I knew it would be a Word, a Rhema Word, to share for someone as it ministered to me in the midst of it all, and my car that was taken in the middle of setting up the venue for my event, “A Star Is Born.” Thank God for true good friends who understand the spiritual things of God and are not simple or carnal.
I had been praying since last summer for another car that works and is reliable, knowing things were getting ridiculously dangerous, no job at that time, and lack of finances-everything messed up- to put it in a nutshell. But the Holy Spirit wouldn’t let me give up when I wanted to throw in the towel, even knowing I was getting ordained again, and after the ordination. I was tired of the fight, and didn’t think I had the strength to fight the small battles before the big one came, and the waiting for 3 weeks for something to manifest. This was the storm I preached about at the event, and my test. When I gave up, each time, in my own strength and said, “I can’t do this Lord. I’m done.” Abba Father came through, so after having gone through the trials that led to this situation and the triumphs that brought some solace and relief; I sat in my new used car (my 9th) and laughed after praising God that morning-and weeks before in the midst of the test. This victory was an encouragement for me because I kept positive, tried not to focus on it, and gave God the glory anyhow; especially in praise and worship right in the bedroom on a regular basis.
When I had to move in with yet more family last summer because of uncomely circumstances, but I didn’t give up when there’s was every reason to. When I got ill in November from an infected cut on my finger I didn’t give up. When I got ill in January with terrible bronchial & sinus infection, etc, I didn’t give up. When I lost most of my hearing in my right ear for about 4 months, I didn’t give up. When I had no money, and it killed me to ask for the help of others, I didn’t give up. When no job came through I didn’t give up. When they talked about me, I didn’t care and didn’t give up lol. When the enemy was trying to play games, I didn’t give up. When I could’ve taken revenge like the old Che’ri, I didn’t and still didn’t give up. When I almost was homeless, I didn’t give up. When they said you may have breast cancer (the devil is a LIAR), I didn’t give up! When I didn’t know how I was getting to choir rehearsal in the city on a busted radiator, I didn’t give up. When I got the job and no assignments came through and I was still broke I didn’t give up lol. When hardly no one made donations, or didn’t keep their word, or brought tickets in advance for DITR’s upcoming event I didn’t give up. When I invested so much financially in DITR, and they thought I was crazy (lol), I didn’t give up!!!
When everything looked a HOT mess, and I could’ve turned to my old ways which would’ve been easy to revert, but I didn’t and I didn’t give up. When I didn’t know if I would be able to do the McDonald’s Gospelfest, I didn’t give up. When they lied on me, stole from me, laughed at me, desired to see me fall, hated on me, recorded me, persecuted me and claimed they knew me (lol) -I didn’t give up. When the repo man came, and later I fell down, I didn’t give up. When parents tried to be difficult, hinder progress of ASIB, and people didn’t support; I didn’t give up. When I couldn’t see it happening I didn’t give up. There was a knowing inside: A Word, a prayer, a song, the Word, a friend; and MOST OF ALL the spirit of God and His small voice speaking to me that would NOT ALLOW ME TO GIVE UP.
I had every reason to walk away, walk away from the tribulations here, and from the ministry all together, but God and I know after having gone through the fire I’ll come out like PURE GOLD-REFINED AND BETTER THAN EVER, so I press on. I pray that you do the same. Pray, sing, speak over yourself, find that hiding place and spend time with God to tell Him how you feel, ask, seek, cry, surround yourself with real God like loving and seasoned Christians. Who cares what they think! Be you, and if God tells you to GO, GO! Wipe the dust off your feet and keep it moving! Cut ignorant people out of your life. Cut jealous and envious people out of your life whether related or not! Someone can’t be for you and against you at the same time. Those wishing they can be you, or have what you have will do anything to tear you down. Cut off those and those hanging onto your coat tail to enjoy the rewards God has blessed you with but don’t want God (lol); or they’re only there to connect with you for who know or for what you do. Pray for these type of people and love them with a long hand. Trust God, and believe He’ll put genuine people in your life that aren’t crazy or hateful-keep walking away-even if you have to be alone. Use discernment, and be yourself no matter the cost. You have to live with you, and people walk away you got you! Love yourself. Believe in yourself and believe in the God in you. Love in spite of as best you can and WATCH GOD MOVE ON YOUR BEHALF. PRESS through the MESS! When you can’t stand anymore fall on your knees and pray. Fire baptized non-religious folks pray my strength in the Lord.
“Lo, children are a heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father…
I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full-pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
(2 Tim 3:16)
All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for the training in righteousness.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure gold.
But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?
25:14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. 15 To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. 17 So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. 18 But the man who had received the one talent went off dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.
19“After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’
21“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
JUST A FEW SIMPLE WORDS TO ACCEPT CHRIST IN TO YOUR HEART AND LIFE SO THAT HE CAN MAKE AN IMPRINT OR IMPRESSION ON YOUR HEART…….
9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
