A favorite Greek restaurant here in Las Vegas is the Fat Greek at 4001 S. Decatur Blvd. Family owned and operated, they have classic Greek fare including gyros, pitas, and kabobs and the menu also extends to other delicious Mediterranean dishes. Their service is friendly, the portions are huge, and the prices are reasonable.
The staff is welcoming and efficient and the decor is the familiar blue and white that is popular in Greek restaurants. The Fat Greek is such a busy establishment that they had to expand their restaurant space a couple of years ago.
If I go for lunch, my favorite is their Fat Greek Gyro – Beef/Lamb or Chicken – Crisp Lettuce, Fresh Tomatoes, Sliced Onions, Tzatziki Sauce, and Crumbled Feta Cheese for just $7.95. Other gyros and sandwiches include Souvlaki, Falafal, Shawerma, a Philly Gyro, and a Greek Burger. Add $1.99 for Choice of Rice, Fries, or Greek Salad and 24 oz. Fountain Drink.
For dinner, I highly recommend the Shish Kebob – Tender Marinated Cubes of Chicken Breast or Beef Filet Grilled and served with Rice Pilaf for $13.95 – I always get the beef. The Gyro Plate is also a wonderful choice – Grilled Pita Bread with Shaved Gyro, Crumbled Feta, Fresh Tomatoes, Red Onions, Lettuce, and Tzatziki Sauce served with Rice or Fries for only $12.95. If you are wanting to sample different menu items, try the Combination Plate For Two – a tasting of Moussaka, Pasticcio, Gyro, Dolmades, Roasted Potatoes and Tiropita for $32.95. All Entrees are served with Choice of Soup or House Salad.
Other offerings are hot appetizers, cold appetizers, soups, salads and of course their delicious desserts!
