The iconic common blue instant Unsummon is returning in Wizards of the Coast’s upcoming “Magic 2013 Core Set.”
Unsummon – U
Return target creature to its owner’s hand.
Not to be. That is the answer.
Unsummon has been printed an astounding 16 times over the course of “Magic: The Gathering’s” rich history, yet has only had three different images grace the front of its art box.
One might choose to use Unsummon defensively to gain tempo by bouncing one of your opponent’s creatures, or to cast Unsummon offensively to get rid of a blocker.
Unsummon was recently outclassed in terms of power by Vapor Snag and Silent Departure, which both currently see play.
While Unsummon won’t provide the massive tempo that Devastation Tide will that doesn’t mean it won’t be used in “M13” limited, where it will shine.
How will you use Unsummon?
