The entire state of Colorado is a fantastic place to visit with family and friends; throughout the state there are many local attractions, whether one is looking for adventure, recreation, museums or sites.
Recently in Colorado Springs, as well as other areas of the Midwestern United States, there has been much tragedy due to the wildfires that have been raging throughout the area. Instead of going on a purely recreational vacation, it may be a good idea to consider using this year’s vacation time to make a difference in the lives of people who have suffered so much loss. Also, it will make a difference not only in the lives of the families who have been affected, but also in those who go to help. It can be a great learning experience for families or church groups, and while in the area, guests can take an extra day or two to explore more of the state, if they want to do some touring.
North Carolina Baptists on Mission have a Disaster Relief program that has made trips to many areas with natural disasters and has helped many people. They do a lot of projects with construction and clean-up, as well as cooking and serving food. There is something for everyone to do with Disaster Relief.
