Lisa Fox’s latest erotic release, A Matter of Lust is available now! Lisa is here today to talk erotica, inspiration, and romance, so get ready to get steamy.
What are three words to describe your writing?
Red hot romance.
Where did the inspiration for your latest release, A Matter of Lust come from?
I was at a club and there was this very tall, very attractive man there and the way he walked caught my eye. It was like he was hunting. Or maybe I was just really drunk. Either way, he inspired me, and A Matter of Lust was born.
What was the hardest part of writing A Matter of Lust?
Finishing it. I always have trouble writing endings. I worry that they will be flat or too abrupt.
Is there a message behind A Matter of Lust, and if so, what is it?
Of course! It is an existential treaty on mankind, a comment on the eternal struggle of confronting the Jungian shadow aspect of personality and prevailing.
I am kidding. It really is just a story for the sake of being a story and hopefully a very enjoyable read.
How would you define erotica?
Erotica is anything and everything titillating and sexy.
What is your favorite piece of erotic art? It can be any medium you like.
I don’t think I’m cultured enough to have a favorite piece of erotic art. I do like those old time pin-up girls. They were all so sassy!
If you could change one thing about the erotic romance industry, what would it be?
I don’t know that I would want to change anything about it. It is a dynamic industry with a lot of room for new ideas.
What is your favorite title you’ve written so far and why?
I couldn’t pick just one. It would be unfair, like choosing my favorite child if I had any of those. I fear choosing one might give the others some kind of complex which could require years of therapy, possibly tears, and untold angst. It would be terrible.
If you could trade places with one of your characters who would it be and why?
I wouldn’t want to trade places with any of them. Their lives are way too complex for my taste. I like my simple, quiet life.
How do you feed your inspiration and keep your creative muse happy?
Cookies. Lots of cookies. They go well with coffee and make every day a happier place.
What does being brave mean to you?
Standing up after you have fallen down.
What are your plans for the rest of 2012 and beyond?
Keep writing, make The New York Times Best Seller list, have a torrid affair with Hugh Jackman, move to Italy, marry a prince. It doesn’t have to be in that order of course.
Where can my readers find you and your work online?
I am everywhere!
Thanks so much Xavier!
